Even though tattoos are forbidden by Islamic law...

It seems there are a great many reports like this, warning about terrorists entering the US over the Mexican border to plant bombs or to participate in some other terrorist act. This one is fishy since if you were a real Islamic fundamentalist, you would not have tattoos since they are forbidden by Islamic law. Are we being set up for a fake attack which we will blame on Iran? It has happened before. See article below about tattoos...

Congresswoman Fears Hizbullah ‘Israel-Like Bombings’ in US

A Republican Congresswoman has warned that Hizbullah terrorists, hooked up with Mexican drug cartels, may be planning ”Israel-like bombings” against customs officials or National Guard units on the U.S. border.

North Carolina legislator Sue Myrick wrote Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, urging a task force "to engage U.S. and Mexican law enforcement and border patrol officials about Hizbullah's presence, activities, and connections to gangs and drug cartels."

Echoing previous reports of Hizbullah’s activity in the profitable drug trade, Myrick wrote, "The connection between Hizbullah and the drug cartels has seemed to grow over the past few years. This may be especially true on the U.S. southern border.

“Across states in the Southwest, well trained officials are beginning to notice the tattoos of gang members in prisons are being written in Farsi. We have typically seen tattoos in Arabic, but Farsi implies a Persian influence that can likely be traced back to Iran and its proxy army, Hizbullah. These tattoos in Farsi are almost always seen in combination with gang or drug cartel tattoos.”

Are tattoos allowed in Islam?

No they are not. Let us look at what Prophet Muhammad peace be upon commanded:

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Ansari: "The Prophet forbade robbery (taking away what belongs to others without their permission), and also forbade mutilation (or maiming) of bodies. (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Oppressions, Volume 3, Book 43, Number 654)"

The following several narrations of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him were sent to me by Omar; may Allah Almighty always be pleased with him:

Narrated Abu Huraira: "Allah's Apostle said, 'The evil eye is a fact,' and he forbade tattooing. (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Dress, Volume 7, Book 72, Number 827)"

Narrated 'Aun bin Abu Juhaifa: "My father bought a slave who practiced the profession of cupping. (My father broke the slave's instruments of cupping). I asked my father why he had done so. He replied, 'The Prophet forbade the acceptance of the price of a dog or blood, and also forbade the profession of tattooing, getting tattooed and receiving or giving Riba, (usury), and cursed the picture-makers.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Sales and Trade, Volume 3, Book 34, Number 299)"
